Career and Technical Education programs seek to provide all students access to high-quality, rigorous career-focused programs that result in attainment of credentials with labor market value.
CTE (Career and Technical Education) gives students a head start in developing valuable professional skills such as communication, interpersonal abilities, time management, and teamwork. Whether students are headed for college or the workforce - or are unsure about which pathway to pursue - CTE helps them see how what they’re learning applies to the needs of employers.
As a school, we are driven by the objective of ensuring all students have access to as many career opportunities as they desire. For this reason, we are constantly expanding our CTE program.
The CTE program in the state of Utah is structured in career clusters, which are equivalent to a bigger umbrella of areas.
Within each career cluster, there are multiple Career Pathways, corresponding to areas of concentration in a given cluster. Here is a list of courses we offer at Rockwell, per career pathway:
Job experiences can help college-bound students to define their career plans, target an appropriate course of study, and help pay for tuition. Rockwell is continuing to develop our offerings in CTE. Currently, we have classes in business, foods and nutrition, and web development.
